A light has been
extinguished nowToo soon the darkness came.
And time itself reminds us how
life will not be the same.
The tears still come, the heart feels weak,
the darkness lingers still.
The throat gets dry, it's hard to speak,
our bones can feel the chill.
Grief is such a weight to bear,
guilt, fear, and regret.
We feel our hearts about to tear,
but love is stronger yet.
Rememb'ring what she taught us when
she brightened up each day.
How she laughed, and sang, and then
too quickly went away.
But all the teachings of her life
were there for all to see.
As mother, teacher, daughter, wife,
love is her legacy.
