The simple joy of walking on Sunday morning on October 17, 2004 brought
hope to breast cancer families when twenty-four enthusiastic members
of Team PinkRose gathered at the Hatch Shell to participate in their
sixth Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. Team PinkRose members
were delighted that this year the sun was shining, and the air was
crisp for a five-mile walk along the Charles River in Boston.
The crowds swelled to an estimated 30,000 walkers who gathered for
the five-mile walk along the Charles River in Boston. Team PinkRose
walkers, Theresa, Gina & Kris Jay, Sandra Ellis, Andrea Orlandini,
Chris Iadorola, Donna Hunt, Gail Altieri, Jo-Ann, Laura & Kristin
Stadelmann, Connie Purcelli, Denise Connolly, Gerri , Marian, Deb
Corbett, Gerri, & Teresa Buono, Bibi Di Serio,Cathy & Mary
Gallivan, Margaret Enos, Cheryl & Maureen Pacella and Debra Brothers
raised over $3000.00 to support breast cancer research and programs
like Reach to Recovery and Look Good Feel Good.
Thanks to all our generous supporters. Together we
make a difference in the quality of life for families touched by breast
cancer. Team PinkRose has three breast cancer survivors who are very
grateful for all the research. Sadly Team PinkRose has also lost two
members to breast cancer. More progress in the fight against breast
cancer is vital.
The American Cancer Society Making Strides against
Breast Cancer raised a total of 3 million dollars. This money is funded
directly in Massachusetts and because of committed supporters Massachusetts
has one of the highest mammography rates in the country.
