"Spring into Summer 2005"

Fashion Show Attendees
enjoyed an exquisite event

The PinkRose Foundation held its second annual “Spring into Summer” fashion show, displaying a passion for fashion and fun. The event sold again! Guests at the historical Endicott Estate in Dedham raised funds to provide scholarships to children who have lost a parent to breast cancer.

The "Future Models of Tomorrow" graciously seated the guests among the historic rooms of the Endicott Estate and gave supreme pampering. The lovely young ladies, Alyssa Alteri, Jacquelyn Collins, Melissa Conklin, Mary Hall, Melissa Hallisey, Gina Jay, Liz McGourty, Aley Pickens and Alix Voyajopoulos sold raffle tickets, gave out scholarship campaign cards and thank-you gifts. Deidre Iadorola assisted the photographer in getting great pictures to document the evening. There were endless hors d’oeuvres such as Beef Wellington and Brie & Pear Phyllo served on silver trays carried by the “Boys of Summer” These fine young men, Chris Blizzard, Jack Gallivan, John Jay, Davy Marich, Dagget Morse, Sergey Pisarevskiy and Antonio Rufo did a superb job of serving the hot hors d’oeuvres provided by Gourmet Caterers and by Domenic and Anthony Caterers.

The evening sparkled with enthusiasm as 200 women took a chance on a $4600.00 ruby and diamond bracelet. The suspense filled the air as Theresa read off the winning numbers 03966, had three women jumping for joy to hear the last number . The last number was 9 and Joanne won the $4600.00 ruby and diamond bracelet!!! As the guests chatted and tasted various wines from Long Island wineries, new “low carb” beers and the chic PINKROSE martini made with Shakers Rose Vodka all served in elegant fluted stemware. Tables were adorned with pink roses provided by the Dedham Flower Shoppe. Butler Linens donated the table linens.

Excitement and suspense filled the silent auction room where attendees bid on luxurious items. There were seven get-away weekends for the girls who just want to have fun! Again the overnight getaway at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge, MA along with a dinner at Davio's and 4 passes to the Museum of Science created a bidding war.Other auction items included signed Red Sox baseball and 1980 Oylmpic Hockey print. There was allot of bidding going on for a Traditional Turkey dinner catered by Gourmet Caterers.

The biggest hit of the evening was the Signature PinkRose Jewelry made by Donna Hunt with Swaroski Pink Crystals and sterling silver roses. Wearing a PinkRose signature necklace, bracelet or earrings honors all the lives lost to breast cancer and provides scholarships for the children left behind. Natalie Pacella and Jillany Sebetes superbly handle the lines of women waiting to purchase the jewelry

Guests enjoyed watching the models present J. Jill’s 2005 summer line. Margaret Reilly, a J.Jill representative, described the fashions as the models, Patricia Aliquo, Linda Buono, Beth Emery, Catherine Black-Gallivan, Jennifer Pike, Sandy Rubico, Kathy Schortmann, Sue Shelley, and Jill Weber sailed throughout the rooms creating a buzz of oohs and ahs, applause, and smiles. The 40-minute show highlighted the eclecticism that is setting a trend in fashion today. The Fashion show was coordinated by Deidre Pickens. Hair designs by Lisa McCann were sleek and straight, adapting to all the outfits showcased.

This evening continued with decadent desserts of chocolate cake and strawberry shortcake by Montilio’s Bakery. The “Boys of Summer” further indulged the guests with large strawberries dipped in dark or white chocolate, all made by the Chocolate Dipper. While guests were enjoying dessert, a surprise raffle gift of Red Sox tickets for Father's Day was called by Gina Jay and awarded to the winner, Jeanette.

Upon leaving, each guest was presented with a Thank-you bag, crafted by Anna Still, with a pink passion ribbon adorning the stamped card which read ” The Fragrance lingers in the Hand that gives the Rose ”, containing a 20% discount card for J.Jill clothes and organic skin care products from the Dr. Hauschka line, consistent with the PinkRose Foundation’s message for women to realize the possible link between breast cancer and parabens and phthalates found in many of the cosmetic skin care lines. Deidre Iadorola gladly assembled the thank-you bags with the donated items prior to the event.

The PinkRose Foundation thanks all sponsors, donors, advertisers and volunteers who helped us produce the “Spring into Summer” Fashion Show. All our lives have been touched by your generosity and kindness. Our labor of love shows in the smiles of the children awarded 2004 scholarships. Scholarship applications open June 1st and close August 31st. Click to download an application.
